Getting up at six o'clock, I grabbed my suitcase and descended to the lobby at seven. We waited for the bus which would only company with us for two minutes from Manna Ash House to Waterloo station. There were two more members today: the courier, Fey, and the manager of EF Taiwan.

Drawing the luggage to the station, we were ready to leave for Paris. There were security check, immigration, and departure lounge just like an airport.

The departure time was 09:09; as we were allowed to go in the platform, everyone was put the luggage quickly on the train. The trip took almost three hours, only about 20 minutes were we under the sea level.

The sun was too shiny, so everyone stood under the shadow of the bus. The first thing to do in Pairs was went to eating our lunch.

Shangralila Restaurant (百樂軒).
It felt a little bit weird eating Chinese food in Paris, but Fey said the meal everyday would alternate between Chinese and Western.

(watch the video: After finishing our meal, we walked to the street and waited for the bus to come, and there was woman walking with her big white dog.)

Opéra National de Paris - Palais Garnier.
With burning sun hanging in the blue sky, Fey decided to change some scheduled trip into indoor activities. Therefore, after spending a little time taking picture of the opera house, we went to Galeries Lafayette.

Featuring with a dome roof, Les Galeries Lafayette is a very beautiful place to visit, especially it was cold and comfortable here. I bought some chocolate in the ground floor, and went up to the top floor, which is an open place, to have a view of Paris city.

We had a boat trip at Bateaux Parisiens just beside Tour Eiffel; the boat navigated west on La Seine, made a turn at La Cité (like a small islet in the middle of the river), and circled back to the original place. Holding with our digital cameras and sitting at the side-seats of the boat hoping to have a good view of the left river bank, our excitement only existed no more than 15 minutes. Only the tour-guide in the boat seemed never tired, explaining to the sightseers in different language for the whole hour.

it seems that French people like to decorate with gold material, and there are sculptures by the bridges, and lots of unknown architecture along the river bank.

It was 7 pm when we left Bateaux Parisiens. Our dinner is scheduled Buffalo Grill, which is an American restaurant. We ate salad, beef, fries, and ice cream. Fey said the drinking were on her today, and I order a cocktail that had a very thick coconut smell.

After the meal, I walked out of the restaurant. There is a library beside the restaurant, and it is very special because it composed of four buildings which have shapes like four open books.

(watch the video: Opposite the restaurant is a bank-side park. Two kids were playing fountain water.)

We arrived at the Hotel, Mercure, at quarter pass nine. Although we had pay the waiter tips, Fey suggested that we carried our own luggage to the room to save time.
Uncle came to our room chatting with Howard, and I was writing diary. The first day of Europe ended when I went to bed at about ten o'clock.
(The picture was took the next morning.)
