| It rained last night, and I thought today would be a much more comfortable day, However, my wish was destroyed again. |
| |||||||||
| Thought it was Saturday morning, the Portobello Road in Notting Hill had was crowded with people. Besides, the sun light was shooting directly to the ground; it seemed that my skin was going to burn, and I had to go inside the store for a shadow. |
| |||||||||
| They sell all kinds of thing in Portobello Market: silver tools, antiques, decorations, clothes, and there are fruit and vegetable vendor. |
| |||||||||
| This is where William lived in the movie Notting Hill (the black door). The door should be blue, but the original one was bought by a incredible high price, and now replaced with a black door, uncle said. |
| |||||||||
| While waiting for others to assemble at the end of the road, we went to Tesco and bought two boxes of ice dream. Mine was Triple Chocolate and uncle's was coffee flavor, both cost £2. |
| |||||||||
| This is The Travel Bookstore which also appeared in Notting Hill. We waited a long time in here, because some people seemed to get lost, and uncle went to search them. |
| |||||||||
| In Harry Potter the movie, this arch was where the platform 9 3/4 is located in King's Cross Station. |
| |||||||||
| There is a sign of Platform 9 3/4 and trolley that seemed to penetrate through the wall outside the train station. |
| |||||||||
| It rained again as we were in the King's Cross Station. The nest spot would be City Hall; because some of us hadn't eat anything for lunch, we went to a store and bought something to eat. |
| |||||||||
| Everyone sat on the ground outside the store; what a funny scene. |
| |||||||||
| The rain was not heavy, so after finishing our meal, we went through the square to the City Hall. |
| |||||||||
| City Hall open publicly only one day a month. There was a security
check in the entrance. I didn't notice that the floor was a map of London until uncle explained to us, and the spot that the spiral pillar stands is where the City Hall is on the map. |
| |||||||||
| We took the elevator the the 9th floor where there is a balcony that
we can looked down the city. (watch the video) |
| |||||||||
| We walked down the stairs which is a very special design. Through the transparent windows, we could sea the River Thames. |
| |||||||||
| Our next destination should be Camden Town, but there were dancers performing in the square (called "Big Dance"). Everyone was curious and swarmed to sea it. The dancing was in a coherence with the fountain which was quite amazing. |
| |||||||||
| We arrived at Camden Town at 17:00. In fact, I had been here yesterday because I circled the Regent's Park a big round and went to Camden Town station, but I didn't know it is a market. |
| |||||||||
| There is a canal here, but we didn't have a visit on the boat. Camden Town is larger than Portobello Market, and there are many food vendor selling Asian food such as curry and fried rice. |
| |||||||||
| I strolled around the market alone, and went into some stores but
didn't buy anything. Uncles said that if we want to go to dinner together, we can assemble at 18:30. Since I didn't like to eat in a restaurant, I went to Waterstone's in Piccadilly Square again, and back to the dorm at about 19:30. |
